A customer just asked about Tax Identification Number verification services. I do know the IRS has these services though when reviewing them they appear to be either for verifying employee SSN or TIN numbers just before 1099 preparation so I'm not sure if the IRS sites are available for daily use.

Hi Wayne – We are looking at options for vendor TIN verifications.  Do you have any clients that use something that integrates into Sage?

One that someone here used is VendorProof https://www.vendorproof.com/.

We also see that Tipalti has an option  https://tipalti.com/en-uk/tax-hub/tin-matching/

We are looking to see if you have any familiarity with any products any of your other clients might have in use.

Does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations?

Integrated with Sage 100? I am not familiar with any of them.

Separate from Sage 100 - there are quite a few. TINCheck appears to be rather thorough (see attached PDF). There's a SOAP API that would allow for some automation to be built, but I'd be grossly out of my depth.

Admittedly - there's a lot of "noise" in this space and reading fine print of "validation" vs. "verification" appears to be the nuanced difference. Services like Tax ID Pro "validates" (formatting adherence), but doesn't verify. TINCheck does both.
