  • 1.  Time card upgrade

    Hi there

    We have a client we are trying to upgrade to 2023 (maybe 2024) and the upgrade freezes due to the massive amount of TimeCard data.  We have spoken to the client as well as to Sage.

    Has anyone experienced and gotten through an upgrade with TimeCard data freezing?

    I have attached an email with dialogue from a couple of consultants detailing the issue.

    What about using VI instead of the utility?

    Maybe do the clean-up in the new system after migration, assuming it goes through without issue.  Pretty sure I've had to do that when I forgot to do it before migrating.

    This issue/request is missing some context. I believe there are two possible issues and I'm not entirely clear what version this upgrade is coming from.

    1. There appears to be an issue where the consultant is trying to use "Global posting flag change" BEFORE the upgrade/migration.
    2. There is also a utility that Sage came out with a few years ago which dealt with upgrades that did carry over a ton of Time Track data but found they had no way to purge it - Time Track entries remain from previous versions Time Track entries do not purge to history because the Payroll module is integrated but not used for Payroll processing.

    This is an issue that comes up every year or two and Sage doesn't have great documentation on these utilities. It would be worthwhile to pull the information into a 90 Minds internal article.I'm not able to read/understand all the email replies ( none have images in the copy I was able to open ).
