Resolution Issue has been reported and engineering has working with Microsoft for possible solution. The results were inconclusive with Microsoft support. They were unable to verify cause at the time. To locate the version open Windows Start, Run, and type winver and click OK. Solution at this time is to restore back to a prior version of Windows 10. Interesting. Running version 1709 on my WIN 10 and I don't notice the lag. But then again, the workstation is only six weeks old and fairly robust.

And just when you thought it was safe to come out, looks like there is big Windows 10 update just around the corner. Wonder what things will break https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/columnist/2018/04/27/microsoft-windows-10-update-new-features-boost-productivity/557312002/

I've done this on a couple of PC's that were experiencing laggy performance and seems to have helped. https://www.tenforums.com/performance-maintenance/96792-fall-creators-update-poor-performance-lagginess-fix.html

Does anyone have any feedback regarding the windows update I mentioned above. My new workstation is prompting me to install it. Just looking for a pioneer that is still alive to tell about it. TIA

I was dealing with clients having performance issues last week. Following Mary's instructions to change Windows Defender Control Flow seemed to have helped in that instance. Thanks, @MaryMays !
