Those of you with customers on Business Intelligence products - have customers overall been happy? I'm looking at Data Self - https://dataself.com/templates/ - and they have a ton of templates which match quite a few of the requests customers make to create reports. From memory, I think the biggest issue with this is the cost. I think at MOTM Joni was talking about a Lite version for $300/mo which is a little more palatable depending on the customer. Unless the customer is on SQL these types of reports can be challenging speed-wise. I know there are ""roll your own"" but for customers, with a limited budget, who are constantly asking for new reports and then balking when we quote them the fee I wonder if this is a solution? Experiences?

I'm curious, too - I liked what I heard at MOTM.

I spent an hour with Joni yesterday to get more details. Since I was looking for an Acumatica customer and another prospect, I didn't get into the details of the Sage 100 Lite version. Looking at their standard pricing, their 5,200 reports are broken into different bucket like SO, Invoices, PO, Purchases, Financial Details, Financial Reports, Opportunities, etc. Each had it's own monthly charge. Full version with Financial Reports and Details with one power user would run about $7,00 per year (SaaS environment). There are other pricing levers including pulling data from Excel, pull from other systems, users counts by type (designer, power, viewer), etc. CS3 will continue to move forward with our discovery but if anyone in the group has worked with DataSelf, I would love to hear your experience as a VAR and about your customers experience.

I'm more than curious because many of the users I'm seeing now are 15+ distribution sites using Sage for 5+ years and looking to extract more detailed sales reports from within Sage. If I figure that some of these more complicated reports are 2-3k then this is a ""create 3 reports"" and it ""pays"" for itself type of solution. The flip side of the coin is that it sounds as if Power BI can do a lot of this type work at a far cheaper cost. The downside to the Power BI option is you have to create the views yourself versus using templates created by DataSelf.

We use SBI alot, but we find with the government contractors and entities with massive GL account numbers and heaps of data, that Renovo (with or without SQL mirroring) or BizNet has been needed, for the sake of speed and the ability to customize beyond what could be very tedious and time consuming in SBI. But we were going to look at DataSelf, too. I sold SBI once and the first report we made took 8 hours to run, Hard lesson to learn.

Sage Intelligence has canned reports to download that can be updated as needed. There are 6 Power View reports available too. https://www.sageintelligence.com/report-utility/sage-100/. Any time a report is written/updated for a customer, keep a copy (export) and you can quickly build your own library of reports to sell.

I have speed concerns with SI especially when going through mountains of invoice history
