This topic can be found around on Sage City and possibly even here, but I am not finding anything concrete to use. Auto Next Lot Number Assignment in PO Receipt of Goods...is this possible with either Custom Office or with an add-on? I can see it's possible if the item is serialized, but not with a lotted item for some reason. Have a customer trying to convert from another system that uses a sequential numbering system so I'm trying to find a way to help them automate. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I have created a button script technique that can assign numbers sequential in these types of dialog boxes from a log file or UDT. Send me a message if you would like to discuss how it could help your situation.

There is no need - standard mas should handle this. In item maintenance - additional tab, field is ""Next Lot/Serial number"" add the next kloit number here. Best

Hi Joan, the key word here is ""should"". As I couldn't imagine Amber didn't already notice that I tested it on my 2014 system. While you are correct in that you can set a next automatic lot number, when you go to distribute a lot item it doesn't give you the option to use a next number. You can only select an existing lot. Typical shoddy programming. Wait, did I say that out loud?

Not to be taken as a defense of Sage programming (actually, I could name some ERP software with much worse practices), but I understood that the automatic numbering was only available for use with Work Order and BoM.
