This there a best practices method to move Paperless Office files? Upgrade this weekend has 35,000 Journals and Registers and client wants to keep them all.

I usually put paperless into a directory within Sage Directory...but outside the current version. There you dont need to relink next time you upgrade.

I agree. That's what we do too. This one, though, is moving from an old server to a new one. Is it possible to move all, or at least a large number at one time?

I have moved them through the viewer -- you can select a large number and move the. Beware it's very very very slow. Paperless Office move is a huge (huge) PITA. I follow @LourdesSobrino advice and move the documents outside the \MAS90 folder and just hope that the customer doesn't swap servers often.

I would simply 'copy' the folder to the new server and use the 'Link' utility in the Library Master. At least you can re-link 'all' of each type of paperless docs at once instead of a few thousand at a time using the 'move' option.

I also do what @BillPfahnl and @JeffSchwenk do.

One of my client kept them on a separate server. Upgrade to new server and Version 2014 required no action at all on Paperless because UNCs didn't change.

Thanks to all. Moved 2015 journals (worked great). Moving 2014 journals now. Since there are 8,000 it's taking awhile though.

Glad you got it figured out. I had the pleasure of moving more than 102k pdfs recently....took a little while.

After struggling with multiple upgrades and moves, I also store the reports in a ""generic"" spot as @LourdesSobrino does. Life is good until they replace the server......
