    This quite interesting. Customer questioning their Business care renewal. This is what I received from Sage. Since when did the FREE CRM named user suddenly become a $447.30 renewal value?? FREE is no longer FREE????? Client doesn't use it, has no need for it, isn't even aware that they have it......

    I just had a customer ask about this. This is the amount they were wondering about too but I didn't have. A breakdown like this for reference. Did you ask Sage about it?

    Response from my business care contact is that the CRM license was NOT included in the small business bundle that they originally purchased. She would be more than happy to remove it for me....

    Well, two years ago, they were paying $1,700 for BC. This year Sage is wanting $2,700. I think $400 of the increase is due to some SI licenses. Hard to tell with the Sage magic pricing program.

    No problems, simply upgrade to Subscription. What could go wrong with that?

    Also, the invoice shows two Sage intelligence licenses. Is that two additional licenses? They are supposed to get the first one ""free"".

    Good point @DougHiggs I am trying to find my paperwork from 2002 to see if they actually bought FRx (I think they did) as that caught my eye as well.

    Could this be a situation where Sage is helping out customers on SB by adding CRM and SI - which is going through as chargeable because they are not on regular Sage 100 licensing.

    Not sure how to define ""Helping"". If they were truly helping, there would be no charge by treating SB customers the same as non SB accounts. CRM license was NC to everyone. Why charge SB for it. And chances are, if you are SB, you have little need for CRM. But if you would start using it (like everyone else), extra licenses are gravy. I CAN see the argument for SI charging for the first report manager. FRx was not part of the original sale like it was for non SB sales. Though in this particular case, I think they bought an FRx license because the client is USING FRx. I can understand the confusion, but what I am seeing/suspecting in this case is the need for GREED.....
