This might not apply to most but I just got an ema

This might not apply to most but I just got an email from Sage saying they have miscalculated my commissions for over a year now and that they want it back. They are saying that 100c conversions did not qualify for commissions if you were on Bronze level. I clearly remember reading as well as hearing from Sage that subscriptions qualify for Tier Credit and Commissions regardless of tier level. I guess they are going back on their word. Anyone else get this email or am I the only one on Bronze level?

Is this because not enough Bronze level partners have signed up with the Not a Master VAR program?

I have no idea. They did not give any type of explanation, other than ""We recently uncovered and fixed an error in our system, which led to an overpayment in your commissions

I think this is the most recent tier related info that I have. I don't follow it that closely any longer.

I think Standard is the new Bronze. The last paragraph on above also says that Sage pays out on initial sale but not on subsequent years. It is not completely clear based on this version whether Sage is referencing only perpetual or subscription as well.

The last sentence in the image above - ""Standard business partners earn Sage Business Care margin on plans attached directly to software purchase and are not eligible to earn service margins on renewals."" I'd argue - A change from on premise renewal to subscription is **the sale of a subscription to replace on premise software**, and the EULA directly supports that. In the second year, I can see the subscription is a renewal, but the first year it's a subscription sale.

I wish they would spend their time working on paying the commissions that they haven't paid but have been earned. Why not just say ""we screwed up, but we are going to do the right thing, fix it for the future and move on"".

Speaking of the ""Master VAR"" program has anyone joined one of the new ones? If so any feedback.

@JohnLeonard have you heard anything else on this commission reversal? It's a huge chunk of money for me and I'd like to fight it if possible. I've been trying to contact my rep for two days and all i get is a hold music. Left a VM which apparently is going nowhere. This might just be the last straw for me with Sage. Totally fed up with them. Either that or join a Master Var. OK,....end of rant :)

I have not heard anything. I sent an email back, saying it was incorrect, but have not had any response. I have been fed up with Sage for a long time now.

It would not surprise me if one area of Sage did not know the policy for another area. Your best chance of fighting this is to find something in writing to present to Sage. Realistically I think you'll find that Sage is now focused on their top partners and master vars. It's probably time to find a dance partner and pair up.
