This job has been kicking around a good 6 months. I know they've hit up most of the local members of the group. Just in case you get a call or see it online. I think @MikeFitzgerald and @MarkKotyla may have spoken to whatever organization was trying to find a contractor and could supply details. My memory (possibly faulty) is that the rate was the main sticking point. Plus this has been dangling about 6 months (maybe more) so I'm guessing there's more to the project than just a simply conversion. Hey Wayne, I thought I would reach out to you because you were the number one influencer in this group! :) I am looking for a person in the Danbury, CT area that would like to a 6 month contract at about $65.00 / hour tha thas experience with Sage MAS 90 / Sage MAS 200 as well as JobOps and SAP. I know it's asking a lot, but I thought either you would know someone or might be qualified for this position. If you need a job description it can be found here: http://goo.gl/oQL1g Warm regards, Vaughn Parker

It's really not about finding a qualified person, as I feel many are qualified. It's more about finding someone at their price point. I have a feeling the client will see the light as they get closer to the deadline. Except by then, they'll most likely pay 3X the advertised rate. Funny how the original project was a 12 month commitment, but is now changed to 6 (since it's been unfilled for 6 months). Guess the winning bidder will have to do twice the work for 1/3 pay.

I don't know the company that this position is being searched for but my guess is that there may be other challenges. There is a reason that they're using a recruiting firm to find a consultant - and my top two guesses are: (a) Cost and (b) The company doesn't see the value in hiring a consulting firm. As with most orphan type customers - there's no doubt a story behind this..

I spoke with these folks. It's Goodrich. They are using their own internal folks as well as outside placement firms. They did find someone for the position earlier this year but now that person I believe is relocating.

Also, I think they most recently said they'd actually pay up to $80/hr (W-2). And there'd likely be travel involved if not in the Danbury, CT area.
