This is probably a tall order for the Sage WO and BM modules but it's worth a try. Customer wants to be able to create a custom quote in S/O based on a BM. Basically, the sales people will start a quote in SO, call up a BOM that will explode, and then allow them to add and delete components based on their customer's needs. The quote total will then be based on the price of the components selected. Finally, The WO module will build the Top Level product based on components entered on the quote. As I'm writing this I'm thinking there is NO WAY Sage 100 can do all this. I hope I'm wrong. Maybe JobOps or another add-on can. TIA

If you used bill options and had the WO Make for SO...

Check with ACS Group, Ron Jacobs, about their Manufacturing Automation and Efficiency module. It doesn't do this exactly, I don't believe, but it may be close enough for them to do a modification.

Classic JobOps: you can create a work ticket with the Sales Order being a quote, the BOM components can explode and you can add/delete components as needed, and then use the pricing feature in JobOps to calculate the price of the top level (parent) item based on a markup on cost % or a gross profit %.

@JaneScanlan Can the top level price be calculated as the total price of all the components rather than a % of Cost or Gross Profit?

No, but you could modify the quote form to roll up the prices of all of the components and print as a single line for the parent price.
