Sage 100

This is more informational than a request (cry) for help. We are doing our first upgrade from pre 2018 to 2018 PU3 with payroll, time card and job cost. This one is the mother of all undocumented processes. We did encounter the error message that we had to reinstall Time Card when trying to convert the data. To be clear, we installed v2018 and PU3; then migrated the data; then tried to convert the data when we got this message. We then reinstalled v2018 and PU3 and tried to convert and got the same message. We looked at the system configuration in Library Master and saw that Time Card was at version 5.10 (or something very odd). We installed Payroll update 2.18.2 and it immediately changed the version of Time Card and Job cost also. After installing Payroll 2.18.2, the conversion happened with no additional errors or steps. We did have to go through the Payroll conversion utility to handle the mapping, etc but it was as expected.

Is there any type of checklist that has been fine tuned and kept current for these payroll / jc upgrades? I'm dreading them but probably have to start soon after 12/31 as I have a couple 2016 PR users.

I have not seen a check list. We are in the second upgrade now and we are SUPPOSED to be making notes in an attempt to put into a checklist. I will share if we get anything useful.

If I read your post correctly, you may have skipped installing the PR2.0 update 2 in addition to PU3 the first time through? If Payroll is involved you need to install the PR updates in addition to the ERP update always.
