This is MAS90 3.71 SQL. VI job suddenly came up missing. Restored VI folder, but still not listed. Looked through the Library Master files in manual and nothing about VI jobs, but I'm sure there must be some file (or, God forbid, some records in some file) that have the listing of VI jobs. Anyone know?

Sounds like someone has some 'splaining to do. Hunch is that someone deleted by mistake.

Once the toothpaste is out of the tube there is no going back. You have to recreate.

WHAT? No way. We have a backup of everything - we just need to know what besides VI we have to restore.

Did you restore the entire VI directory? According the knowledgebase, that should do it. Are you sure it was restored? Who restored it? Did they overwrite existing files or rename the orignal VI folder to ensure it would be restored? http://infosource.sagesoftwareonline.com/sw_attach/kdb.asp?isresolutionconceptid=413879

Outside IT guy I've worked with for ages (meaning one of the GOOD guys) restored the whole folder. He also restored it elsewhere but hasn't replied yet to tell me where. I thought sure there was a system file, but if this KB is true... then WTH? I'll see what happens when he tells me where the other copy is. I hope SQL isn't different... @ThereseLogeais - can I just hire you to do KB lookups for me? You always find them when I can't!

That's what I'm wondering - is SQL different? And all I searched for was ""missing vi job"" - apparently I've done waaay too many and know how to phrase them?

See, I probably would have put Deleted VI Job and got nuttin', honey.

Well, Sage might be right (even on SQL). There was an EXP of the import in the VI folder and I imported it back in. However, it bombed out, so apparently changes had been made since the export (which was dated 2005, but as slow as these folks move, it was definitely worth a shot). So I renamed the VI folder and restored the backup VI folder AGAIN. If the job listing was stored somewhere besides VI, it should show up in the list, yeah? It didn't. So, that leads me to believe it was already missing during the backup they restored from (which was based on the client's choice). So I think they just might need to go back further.

Think you're right. The VI job listing is in VI1JOB.SOA (from the VI folder). You can DFDM that to confirm the job records are missing.
