    This is an FYI. In the new standard desktop users will only see tasks that they have rights to. However, users will still see modules such as MRP or Bar Code even if they have rights to only Sales Order Inquiry - since this is on the Inquiries menu under these modules. It's a little annoying, but whatever.

    In other words, the legacy menus are not impacted by the tighter security???

    The legacy (aka ""classic"") desktop is not affected. All tasks appear and user gets the ""You are not authorized"" message box when attempting to launch a task with insufficient rights. It's just that in the new STANDARD desktop they will see **modules** they do not have any rights to IF there is an inquiry within that module, such as SO Inquiry, that they do have rights to. It just leaves more clutter than I was hoping for.
