Yes, I've already gone through 100 photos when they ran the deal a few months ago. They aren't quite as high end as some of the 'big boys' but more than serviceable unless you are looking for art for a multi-national mega website. They even have a decent selection of video clips

I bought one for 90 Minds - looks like something that we would definitely use. I've had issues with Appsumo in the past and know they offer some good deals but found on some you had to read the fine print closely to see about recurring renewals,etc.

When I was at Geardiary we would get a lot of emails from people regarding images we'd repurposed on the site. Most of these were amateur photographers but yes the threat of being approached with a fee to pony up for an image is very real. It's also MUCH easier to just use the stock images vs searching through online image galleries for creative commons (free).
