This customer has an overdistributed tier with tiers from 2011 and 2013 available. I ran a negative tier adjustment and the -20 was taken out of the 9/6/2013 tier and NOT out of the 2011 tiers. Why would that be??? I don't see anything unusual in IM_ItemCost and there is nothing in the IM_ItemCostCalc file. The customer wants to know why those 2011 tiers are still there and I cannot think of a reason. Anyone??

Never mind. In IM_ItemCost, there is a CostCalcQtyCommitted field and sure enough, the quantities are committed.

New question. Why or how did those get committed?? They have 540 items with quantities in that field that I don't think should be there. How do I - should I? - clear them out??

Could occur if the valuation method is LIFO as the most recent tiers should be consumed first.

    Nope. FIFO.

What is the CostCalcCommitted field used for? As you can see in the image, there are no quantities committed. When does this field get populated?

Thanks @DougHiggs. So in other words, they should all be zero. Hmm, may have to use @AlnoorCassim 's hack to import these as 0. The field is currently not available in VI.

Yes. Manually modifying 540 records would take a while. Looks like there may have been an update interrupted at some point.

they are supposed to revert to 0 if you answer either yes or no to a register update. I wonder if you entered one of the items in inventory transaction entry as an adjustment, preview the register, but answered ""no"" to the update if that would clear the field? then dlete or reinit the inventory trans entry file when done. If that works on the test you could VI the items into Im transaction entry.

Hmm, worth a shot. I'll let you know!

Nope, didn't work. Previewed it, said No to update, the quantity is still there.

I knew I had seen a utility for this! Too bad I already cleared them - and 343 in their second company - through VI. Thanks anyway @DougHiggs!
