If there isn't a standard then there should be. If the product is on the Sage price list then the customer should expect to have be able to upgrade within a reasonable time after Sage releases a new version. My customer wants to upgrade to 2019. Scanco indicated that 2019 requires multi-bin enterprise which will not be ready until the 4th quarter 2019 at the earliest. Realistically, it may not be available until 1st quarter 2020, a year after 2019 was released. If Sage only supports the 2019 for two or three years, by the time my customer goes live on 2019 they only have a year or so before they are on an unsupported version.

If there is a standard, I'm unaware of it.
The only standard I've ever observed is that if there are lots of users of the enhancement/product that it tends to be upgrade much more timely.
