Third Party integration error when trying to import a Quoteworks order to Sage 2018 Sales Order

  • 1.  Third Party integration error when trying to import a Quoteworks order to Sage 2018 Sales Order

The error that's generated during the process is misleading. I think there's something else going on which is preventing the process from completing. Here's the general error info:
Processing the Document "DocumentNumber" in Sage failed
    Current Company
    Company Data path: \\servername\SAGE\SAGE2018ADV\MAS90\MAS_ABS\
    Current Module: Sales Order
Fatal Error creating S/O Sales Order in Sage.
12 - Error #12: File Does Not exist (or already exists) File: JC_Options
    <NewObject Error: 200>
The Job Cost module isn't installed, I even went as far as installing it with the 45 day trial period option. After installing Job Cost the developer tried the testing process once more and the error still occurred.
The developer has gone ahead and installed an NFR copy of Sage 2018 on his own machine, without job cost, and he's been able to import from Quoteworks to Sales Order.
I have ensured that the enable external access option is turned on in the Sage company maintenance screens.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this?

Yes they do. Is this a known issue with installations that include Avalara?

John - Jeff is saying it sounds like QuoteWorks is using BOI therefore this #Avalara AvaTax thread applies Register AvaTax DLLs

    Thanks @Alnoor Cassim
Would that be the register_for_com.bat file, and how do you put a pause in the file, just type in PAUSE at the end of the text?

    Erase Avalara.AvaTax.Adapter.tlb
    C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\regasm Avalara.AvaTax.Adapter.dll /tlb /codebase
    PAUSE

Hi John - Yes you are correct on the BAT file and how to add PAUSE. I would also rt-click and choose Run as Admin. I also like to copy the BAT file from /mas90/AvaTax/ folder to workstation C:/Sage/ folder, add the PAUSE and Run as Admin from there.

Thanks @Alnoor Cassim . I have a remote session with the developer and Sage users tomorrow. Let's see how it goes.

    Good night.

Did you verify avalara.avatax.adapter.dll is in the C:\windows\microsoft.NEt\framework\v4.0.30319\ folder?  If it is there maybe add a cd\ "C:\windows\microsoft.NEt\framework\v4.0.30319\ " then a pause and make sure you are changing to the folder.  I think you have to have the folder in quotes.

That file isn't in the folder you indicated.

This client is currently running the old Sage 4.40 with AvaTax installed. Users are running Sage 4.40 from 2 terminal servers, RDS1 and RDS2. The third party software is working properly for version 4.40.

I have my pilot sage 2018 installation and AvaTax 6.00 on a separate application server, with the Sage 2018 Advanced client installed on RDS1 and RDS2. Are all the necessary AvaTax components installed with the standard Sage advanced client install, or is there a separate AvaTax client component install required? The fact this dll isn't present on the RDS1 or 2, would indicate that all the necessary files aren't there.

I searched for that dll on the Sage 2018 application server and couldn't find it there either.

You may want to call DSD.  I'm not sure if they support AvaTax or if you need to get support from Avalara.  The first line of the screen shot of the bat file indicates the line command is trying to erase a file that isn't found, then the next line is trying to register the dll but cannot because it can;t find it.  Seems to me there are files missing.
