Third client trying to install WIN 8 64 OS machine. The first took over week to debug with MAS, the second one was swapped for a WIN 7 PRO. The third is still in a state of why won't this work with MAS 90 v4.5.6????? I installed everything as local admin, Changed the Sage PDF port to c:\users\public\sage and made the necessary click in the two settings on the security tab. I uninstalled the PDF comverter using the PL_advancedoptions_ui utility. I keep encountering a ""printer not activatd derror code - 20. KB indicates there are no solutions. Has anyone be to successfully install these machines with regular success? Any tips? Thanks in advance.

First, just to verify and I apologize for asking an obvious question - you are getting the fail message when you try to LIVE print a PDF and not for a test? The test of course is a known lifelong bug of paperless (it will fail on test but work on live). Have you tried setting the local port to just sage (no path - and again maybe there's been some subsequent discussion that using a full c:\ is needed on WIN 8 and if so disregard)

Geesh, Louise, it bites me AGAIN! Start MAS in ""run as administrator mode"". Why cam't Sage just code the dang start up icon to do this automatically?????? I got past the PDF creation issue, but now Adobe will not launch. But that is an issue for their tech team as I can't even double click on the file to open it.

The answer @WayneSchulz gave is spot on - the Sage PDF port must NOT be null and is best set to local port of ""Sage"". As far as the run as admin permanently, right-click the program icon, select properties, then click the advanced button, then set to run as admin.

Regarding the 'Printer not activated' message - has the Sage PDF Converter been created in the Windows Printer Control Panel?

Ken. all is well with MAS once I launched it with ""run as administrator"". Only issue remaining is with WIN 8 opening Adobe Reader 11 which I have turned over to their IT staff. The PDF printer appears and adjustments to the port and security tabs have been completed.
