They don't don't them like they used to..... My Samsung 22"" flat panel is dying a slow death after four years of faithful service. Does anyone have any favorites that I should look at as a replacement? TIA

I like my Samsyng 24"" LED. I'd go with two and make it a matched set.

I like Samsung but my IT shop is pitching ACER. The 22"" ACER is about $80 less expensive, more energy efficient but has less (40%) contrast. Should I go with a larger screen? What model do you have?

Make sure you get 1920*1200 not 1920*1080 . The extra pixels make a difference. IPS is best, same tech as ipad

An hp 24"". I don't think they make this exact model. any larger and the Resolution isn't high enough. You could spend lik 1100 and get a super high res 28 or 30

$200 isn't enough. Go back and renegotiate. A 1920 x 1200 LED 24"" is about $300 - $500. The cheaper ones are 1920 x 1080. That 1080 resolution is very competitive, so the best deals are in those sizes. Mark is right the extra resolution is worth it on the larger screen size. Given a choice if I could only spend $400 total, I would get two 1080 over one 1200.

Santa actually negotiates? My office set up is a laptop plus and external monitor. So what you are both saying is to shake down Santa for a bit more gold and go with the higher resolution?

It's time for me to get a new laptop. I think I'll switch from Dell to Lenovo. My main criteria is a docking station. Have two monitors, keyboard, mouse, gigabit network and external storage on the docking station. Add a zero to the end of your budget Jeff. If you don't get permission, ask for forgiveness.

Time to look into cloud monitors @JeffSchwenk. For $50 per month, www.samsung.com will broadcast your screen into the clouds. Literally - think of the batsignal. The advantage is you can access it anywhere that is overcast.

I assume that it is displayed on the clouds where you are rather than where it is hosted.
