  • 1.  Thermal Printer Replacement

We have a client that is currently using a Zebra printer.  When a Windows 7 machine prints to the Zebra printer, printing is in landscape, as specified.  When a brand new Windows 10 machines prints from Sage 100 v2018 to the Zebra printer, it will only print in portrait.  We have exhausted their internal IT resources and our own without resolution. Can anyone recommend a Thermal printer recommendation to be used with Sage 100 v2018 with Windows 7 and Windows 10 compatibility?

I would be inclined to contact Sage for tech support on this issue (good luck though) since WIN 7 seems to print fine.  Or reach out to Zebra tech support for resolution.  Seems like a waste to get a new printer to solve what seems to be a WIN 10 printer driver issue.

There are a number of threads on this subject.  The problem is the Crystal Reports print engine and how it works with label printers.
The general fix I tend to go with is to redesign the reports to rotate fields 90 degrees (converting numeric fields to text first).
Another idea I've seen is to set a false label length in the report (so for a 4"x2" label, set it to be 4"x5" but with nothing below the 2" mark...), so the results are oriented the way you want, but CR "thinks" it is portrait.
