There is a bug listed in 4.40 re when you close the year in Inventory, the Ending Balances do not roll over into the Beginning Balances. There isn't a fix listed and I'm not positive if it's in any of the SU's - found something similar. But I don't see any sort of utility to fix the files now that they're screwed. Does anyone have any info on this?

I know there is an issue with the IM Trial Balance report being incorrect after period 1 due to beginning balance info but it was addressed in PU 4 I believe.

Yeah, it's not quite that error. If you go into the History tab and look, there is no Beg Balance.

Well I'll be closing a year in 4.4 this Friday. Guess we'll see what happens?

Can you recalculate item history?

I'm skeered to try since Sage didn't offer that as a work-around....

WARNING -- if the customer is on JOB-OPS 4.40 PU6 with Nanook installed, DO NOT run this utility. This seems limited to items that were created using order based work tickets, but when you run it, sales quantities in item maintenance/inquiry are reset to zero. Awful bug.

In one case, we entered an inventory adjustment for the next period and it then fixed the beginning balances. Very weird but it worked! I have not yet tested it here to confirm. Might be worth a try.

I thought I saw in the knowledgebase something about the beginning balances not appearing until there were transactions in the period but I could be wrong....

DANG. This didn't happen for this client - she is seeing negative balances on all months, but no beginning balances yet. Poop.

Dawn has the issue you mentioned above regarding JobOps and the recalcualtion utility been reported to JobOps? I wanted to get more details from them and sent the support desk an e-mail but as of yet I only heard back from them asking me for more information because they ""hadn't heard of this"". My 4.40 clients are having so many issues with the Inventory module ....

Yes of course it has been reported. We have a few open tickets with JOB-OPS on version 4.40 issues.
