  • 1.  "The registration is invalid"

    Client on premium rebooted the server this morning and now Sage 100 won't allow logging in - message "The registration is invalid." KB says a corrupted SY_System table. I checked the table in SQL and all the data looks good. I don't see any corruption. reg numbers are fine Short of a restore, does anyone have other ideas? The host starts fine.

    Any 3rd party enhancements? I just searched my tracking and the only note I see is one for a missing DSD registration but that happened during a migration and the message is not the exact same.

    Yes. they have DSD enhancements. ...and ScanForce.

    In my case the two files I have a note that I replaced were: 

    sy_140Registration.M4T
    SY_140RegistrationActivation.MT

    In MAS_SYSTEM

    Did folder permissions change?  I'm sure you are running Sage as Admin but try just in case.

    Bad activate.pvx?  Can you get into the Administrator panel and try to re-register from there? 

    Perhaps clear the session files?

    @Kevin Moyes No. Can't log in at all. Already tried replacing the control files @Wayne Schulz Those files don't exist in this system. @Doug Higgs Yes, I saw that but that's last resort because no one here is sure how to do that in SQL.

    I have a case open with DSD just in case.

    @Bill Pfahnl What was the resolution. I'm running into the same issue you did on Premium installation today. This client also has DSD enhancements.

    Unfortunately, no resolution. Ours was not an upgrade. Ended up restoring from backup. We eventually performed a fresh install and migration to new server.

    For Sage 100 Premium edition, the procedure is similar to the above steps (requires a qualified SQL database administrator, as Sage 100 Customer Support does not assist with SQL administration):

    1. Restore a recent backup copy of the MAS_System database to another temporary (not live) location
    2. Then delete the record in the SY_System table in the live database location
    3. Copy the record in the restored SY_System table to the live SY_System table.
