  • 1.  The Panel Cannot Be Customized

    Sage 100 Premium 2017 PU 1

    I'm trying to add a field to an existing panel and getting a message "The xxx panel cannot be customized"
    The icon for "add a field" is also greyed out though the icon for "add an external link" , "Add text", "Add frame" are all available for use.



    Here's what I've tried:

    - Everyone out of Sage - Yes
    - No extra screens open on my desktop - None
    - CM - Update Custom Panels to Current Level
    - CM - Rebuild Customizer Log

    I have been able to get through this error ( brute force retry? )  but it persists.

    Am I looking at a corrupt set of panels or is there something else that I'm overlooking? I don't recall ever running into this before.

    One thing I notice is that this issue appears to happen when trying to access a customized panel through [ Customized Panels ]. If I go directly to the main portion of Custom Office I seem to be able to select the module and customized pane without issue ( it's also much faster since Sage doesn't appear to scan to try to find modified panels before presenting you with a list of modified panels ).

    It seems like you found your work around, but did you try renaming the CUSTOM folder in Directory files? Maybe it is just a corrupt panel (or like you said, and issue with scanning them)? Maybe one of the .bak files is bad?

    Thanks, Michelle. I didn't rename or restore any panels because they have significant material custom office panel modifications ( some not done by me ). It looks like going direct to the panel vs trying to go in via [ Customized Panels ] did the trick. I do wish Sage would pay this area some attention and updated it so it doesn't look and act like a product from 1990.
