  • 1.  The OEM agreement between Global Software and Sage

The OEM agreement between Global Software and Sage ended on November 1, 2012, and Sage Business Alerts has transitioned back to Global Software. This transition is an excellent opportunity to introduce customers to another solution available from Sage, Sage ERP Alerts and Workflow by Vineyardsoft, a Sage Endorsed Partner Solution. On-plan Sage Business Alerts Professional customers can receive a copy of Alerts and Workflow at no cost by contacting you to request it. Has anyone taken advantage of requesting a copy of Alerts and Workflow for free? Via: BP FAQ for 2013 - http://goo.gl/9LKWH

I didn't know the free exchange existed. I wonder if it is available for non ERP customers as well (ABRA, HRMS, FAS, etc.) We have a number of installs of Business Alerts out there across multiple products and this would be a nice push for January for work in February and March. Hmmm.

Is there a specification anywhere of exactly what KS modules.options are included for free and what would be additional cost?

@ShawnSlavin If you find out be sure to let us know. And like @PhilMcIntosh I'm curious exactly what is included. There's also a decent likelihood that not many (nobody) at Sage knows so you may have to point them to their FAQ.

So ""free"" probably also means the software but NOT the maintenance. Also a good time to consider getting the single ODBC version or go with the Access version that you can use for multiple ODBC connections (via silent PTQ's). I highly doubt that Vineyard is throwing in the reports module that is very useful....

Answer I got from Susie: ""No modules qualifying customers will receive Enterprise Edition, One Connection Alerts. It's listed on the price sheet for $1,799.

I'm betting they collect the first year's maintenance up front so the cost would be something in the area of 21% of $1,799.

M&S: ""Sales Ops manually inactivates the customer's Business Alerts product in iBase. The M&S for Sage Alerts & Workflow M&S will be co-termed with the ERP system, so when a renewal invoice is created, it will include Sage Alerts & Workflow instead of Alerts from Global Software."" Based on that (from an e-mail I received), they are considering the maintenance already paid for Business Alerts I was also told that if a client reinstated maintenance, this trade-in would apply, but I doubt that reinstated maintenance would include Business Alerts, so the standard $399 on KnowledgeSync would most likely apply. Oh, and I asked, of course, and there is no tier credit applicable on this trade.
