Need some advice here, please!  Two of our Sage 100 customers are merging and they both have/had their own sets of Sage 100 software.  I know there are encryption keys for each installation, so I know we can't simply take the second company code and copy it over to the first company.  Plus we're going to have issues with Paperless Office as well.  One company is on v2022 and the other is on 2023.  We would be bringing the 2022 version into 2023. Is it possible to simply setup the 2nd company in company maintenance in the 2023 version and migrate the 2022 company across?  (I think we would still have issues with some system files that are unique to each company.)  Any advice that you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

@David Speck II and I had to do that a few years ago and David had to write quite a few scripts to clean things up.  User keys (who updated the data) and company key were the two biggies I remember.  I'm sure David remembers more, since he had to write it.  :-) (OH, and I think they had to change their Fiscal Years around at the same time - good stuff.)

UDF / UDT definitions need to be aligned too.

Somewhere back in the archives there is a thread about the encryption key and how to modify the files so you could bring in the second company.  Not sure how far back you have to look.  I believe each module has a key field.  You DFDM and copy the surviving key as replacement value

Make a complete copy of mas90 folder and all subfolders of the "second company" and then change the unlocking keys in the copy to the unlocking keys of the first company.  Then do a migration from the second company to the first company.

Thank you Doug!  We'll try that - and I very much appreciate the suggestion!

DSD has a utility that I've used previously whose description is:

The LMCC Company Consolidation Enhancement allows users to combine data tables for multiple companies into one consolidated company to allow for consolidated reporting or to create a new operating company (for processing live transactions). Data tables from Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Common Information, General Ledger, Inventory Management, Job Cost, Purchase Order, Sales Order and Service Center modules are included in the consolidation. Source company data remains intact allowing users ultimate flexibility for testing and correcting any data irregularities within the source companies before a final consolidation. Testing and verification of the consolidated data is highly recommended and critical for success.

This is likely something everyone already knows about so I'm posting for future searches who may stumble across this thread.
