The first Sage 100 2018 Payroll Client that we converted had all kinds of challenges with moving to Sage 2018. Lots of ""Hot Fixes"", undocumented features (Ha - remember when we called those error messages ""undocumented features""? Ah, the good old days. Wait - they still exist...we still have undocumented features!) Sage sent this ""Gift"" to the client as a thank you for weathering through the upheaval that 2018 caused. I've never seen one of these...nor am I sure what it is actually for. A paperweight?

    Is there money inside?

Hahahaha! I think you misunderstood me - it's from Sage. You know? Sage Software? I'm surprised there wasn't an invoice inside!

I wonder how much it cost to ship!

It's tiny! It is sitting on her keyboard, so I don't think the shipping was much...I just thought it was such a strange thing to send to a client who had headaches galore due to Payroll 2018.

That's interesting! Does the water move? Trying to correlate it to payroll - smooth sailing?!?

Is it a box that you can put something inside? I'm really curious now. One of my customers who had 2018 payroll problems galore received a set of travel bags.

It's too small to drown your sorrows in but just right for a flask at work. #requiredForDealingWithSage

Sorta reminds me of an award I won a few years ago. After six months had passed with nothing in the mail, I mentioned it to Paige at Chicago Summit. She had a new award sent. About two weeks later, a former neighbor in Iowa called to tell me that the people who bought house back in 2010 had my original award. Hmmmm, I moved in 2010 and I won the award in 2016? Six years in VA and they were still sending stuff to the old address...........

One of my clients just received a Sage bag. Looks like a cross between a gym bag and a cat carrier. They're in v2015 and have had no real issues all year. Curious.

I'm relatively certain it is a paperweight. But after all of the troubles/issues/fixes that this client has, they get a paperweight? And @KarenO'Lane - a set of travel bags would have been SO much better! Or a gym bag! But a paperweight? REALLY?

If you're drowning, grab this life-preserver. It works as well as the software.

It looked like a 'wave' to me, as in Sage asking you not to make any waves.

Maybe it's just to mesmerize you so you don't question anything. :-D This reminds me of a dinner I had with Scott Lehman. It had to be a complete mistake that I was at the table. I had just won the Sage Google Assistant and I was so excited to try it out. Scott said ""Pshh, we have tons of them. You should have just told me you wanted one and I'd have sent it to you."" Yeah. He clearly mistook me for a platinum partner. Us silver guys can't get squat. My tier should be called Unobtainium.

@RhondaMcNamara - That would have upset me immensely - and no doubt it really ruined the dinner for you. Wow - unbelievable! (And you're right - there's no way we're going to make our tier requirement by the end of September. Tier Unobtainium is absolutely right! We need new features we can sell!

I tried to keep my mouth full of expensive oysters and vodka so I would not open it again, @SueBennett . I'm still $17,000 short. One year I think I got there on C migration spiffs alone. This year, I seem to be going for Business Intelligence subscriptions alone. Apparently, I'm like the only partner that sells them for some reason. I think they're a great value.
