  • 1.  "The file is locked by" When Trying to Close Accounts Payable

    The end user is getting a "The file is locked by user name module name" when trying to close Accounts Payable.  I closed all of the open files and pvxwin32 sessions, and renamed sy_console and sy_workstation.  The error still happens.  Any ideas?

    There are a lot of LCK files in the mas90\locks\_XXX folder (XXX = company code).  Can all of the old LCK files be safely deleted?

    Doug, those "File is locked by" messages are generated from Records in SY_LockFileInfo.M4t found in the MAS_System folder.  I kick all users out, then rename that file. it will be recreated as soon as a user opens any task in Sage 100. 

    Be careful though. there is a similar file name in the MAS_SYSTEM folder that should not be renamed. Do not rename SY_lockfile.m4t
