That ""extra"" Sage CRM license.A Sage 100 users h

That ""extra"" Sage CRM license. A Sage 100 users has *INFO showing 7 total users, only 6 can login. I believe that's because the Sage CRM license shows up in *INFO but you cannot utilize it as a login. Anyone have different experience? Update 2/5/16: - 1 user license for Sage 100 Advanced = runs the App Service/Server - not usable - 1 user license for Sage CRM Integration = can be used by a regular user but only if CRM not integrate

I'm thinking they bought a 5 user plus one additional user based on this screen image but I have never been good at reading these. I'm trying to avoid ordering two additional licenses and then having Sage issue me keys that don't add up. I've had this occur more than once but usually on upgrades where the *INFO before and *INFO after don't equal for total users.

For our customers the ERP USER LICENSE line is always the total they purchased. So in this case I believe they purchased 5.

I believe the Sage Integration service uses that license. If you disable that service, I think it frees up that license but I haven't tested that through.

Keep in mind, they could change that process and that license could disappear and not be available under any conditions regardless of that.

That is my experience as well. It seems to allow one additional license for the CRM user that connects to MAS OR the service that runs, Cooper Black Accounting Systems, Inc. 1611 Devonshire Drive | Columbia, SC 29204 Ph: 803.252.6154 | Fx: 803.252.0062 Email: cblack@asifocus.com<mailto:bcooper@asifocus.com>

Doesn't Advanced use a license, too?

Yes, the service for Advanced uses a license, which reflects as an ""extra"" license. This is the top highlighted license in Wayne's screenshot.

On Sage 100 Advance, if you see ""7"" users in *INFO, that represents (5) Purchased + (1) for Advance Service + (1) for Sage CRM Admin. Depending on how the Sage Integration Services is setup; they ""may"" be able to get 6 users into Sage 100. But like @RobertWood mentions, Sage may make changes in the future that will not allow that license to be used inside Sage 100.

The customer can see 6 discrete users in the system (via Master Console) despite Sage's claim that they're only licensed for 5. This is not the first time I've seen this. Suspect it won't be the last. If only 5 could get in I would have a lot less concern. But when 6 can get in and the customer says I just need 2 more and I call Sage and they give me keys that only unlock to 7 -- that's going to be some strange math to explain to the customer.

Yes and it won't be the first time it's happened.

I think Sage has verified for the record that they treat their licenses in this way (matches your comments above): Sage 100 Advanced = Get's one license which is used by the service/app server (cannot use this for a regular user) Sage 100 Advanced = Get's one license for CRM integration - can use this for regular Sage user provided no CRM integration (could go away if Sage were to stop offering Sage CRM giveaway). The second, CRM license which is usable by customers, seems unusually generous. I also don't know how (or if) this applies to Sage 100c licensing. I guess we'll find out when someone sells one in 10 years or so...
