If you are using them and nothing bad is happening, then continue to use them. MOTM 2019 (if that is where I heard it) was a long time ago in a world far away. Could be a figment of my imagination as well.
I sent a note off to my source at Sage. The response was
"Those are "sample" we setup just to show people how they might go about setting up certain tax profiles. We tell you not to use them as they weren't fully researched and might not reflect the exact situation you are looking for"So it appears that you can use them, but your mileage may vary.

@Jeff Schwenk I have been using the Z profiles for all my PR customers since Payroll went to framework. I had no clue that we were not supposed to use them. You would think they would advertise it better than "Linda said". A warning message would be nice. Do I need to go back and change everyone's setup?
