During yesterday's 90 Minds Webinar with Sage Development we had a question on using the task scheduled DTR update with the auto-update DTR - here is Steve Passmore's response:

The chaining of the DTR only happens through our UI. When executing journal/registers and updating with the Task Scheduler it is directly using business objects bypassing the UI.

I would suggest scheduling the DTR in the same job after all the update tasks. If there are multiple updates the DTR won't be specific to each of the updates like you would get when it chains from each individual update but that is the best workaround I've got.

I'm not sure if this is normal but in our experience setting up the DTR to run in the same task as a journal update always fails / results in an orphaned process thread.  We set up a separate DTR schedule well after all the journals are posted.
