  • 1.  SY_INSTALLATION Object installing Premium vs 2025 on new server

    Hello,

    New install of Sage vs 2025 Prem 32 bit and at the tail end I get Failed to create SY_Installation object.

    New Windows 2025 Datacenter, New SQL Server on a second new server.    UAC off.   User is an Administrator.

    It appeared that it created the dbs successfully.  

    Installed workstation setup.

    Ran advanced host configuration and changed port.

    Tried to create the SQL Service but nothing happened at when running it.

    I attempted to run pu1 but get New Object Error 200 just after it tries to load pvx.com. 

    Made sure i had access to c:\programdata...sage - ran pvx.com manually.

    Followed the RES to copy masext.dll to windows,,, it did not previously exist.

    Checked Environment variable paths.

    Opening c:\windows\temp said following, clicked continue..

    Attempted to run the Change to 64 bit utility, but get the error 200.

    Uninstalled Sage, get error 

    Deleted databases from sql and renamed the mas90 folder.

    Reinstalled Sage as 64 bit this time, but same problem.   At the end get the sy_installation error and installation failed.

    Any thoughts?

    The Fix was to get Sage on the phone to watch me uninstall and reinstall Sage again.   :)    (32 bit this time.)

    The sy_installation issue came back.   Just wanted to share what the issue was that prevented the workstation installation and payroll install and stopped the service from creating.

    Not sure if someone changed the user from MAS_USER or if the install defaulted to this other user that I don't have a login for.

    Always use an "sa" level SQL account when doing the install, and avoid Windows authentication to SQL entirely (during the software install and upgrades / migrations)..
