POS is not really our expertise, so I'm hoping to learn more here.
I understand the advantage of polling, where data continues to be collected locally when the Internet connection is down, and is synched back to the server database when reconnected. I see this being similar to handheld devices tracking inventory transactions, reconnecting to the server when back in range of the wireless network.
I have started to prefer the SWK POS in concept because the integration is like any other local module, and does not require VI integration. Perhaps that's not critical for this type of function, but for those with much more experience with POS installations, what is the optimal design?
I'm assuming support for the polling function requries local software programs and data store at the remote location and synch software and controls for this to work properly. Does this exist in any of the POS solutions avaialble for Sage 100, or is it central database vs. VI update?
