    SWK came out with a service pack for point of sale. V4.5 Wow.. A lot of fixes. Service Pack dated 6/19/2013 for Point of Sale version 4.5 addresses the following issues: Voided transactions and out of balance Daily Transaction Register ? Authorize now button missing when using Sage Payments Services Manager over-ride not allowing terms payment when credit checking is on Cash drawer variance when you look at a completed transaction while in a P2 transaction Validation code length field P2 crashes when in a completed transaction if exiting improperly Posting to the correct warehouse Error message ""The item code is required"" when changing quantity of a line item Printing transactions from history Icons in the entry screen all disappear Selecting a voided transaction from completed transactions Migration and conversion of reason codes Suspended transactions causing the cash drawer to be out of balance Error message ""The Sales Journal entry files are empty Daily Transaction Register being out of balance when voiding transactions Modifying the bottom grid in the P2 entry screen Error 80 CI_ItemPrice.pvc 643 New P2 activated companies not posting to GL Reconcile all green check mark in Cash drawer reconciliation Cashier option ""Allow voided transactions"" Transaction defaults in register maintenance Numerous issues with customer payments Message ""Warehouse code cannot be changed from (warehouse code) when option to limit to one warehouse is not on User is incorrectly allowed to select an item before selecting a transaction type

    Yeah. The more things change, the more they stay the same. The difference is Hightower released service packs monthly with shorter lists.

    Before making the plunge with this software ask around for CURRENT references.

    So far, AccuPOS install is a total cluster. More on that later, if we continue.

    So has anyone upgraded a client to v4.5? That fix list is quite scary. Our clients have been waiting years to upgrade (what's a little longer, right?). Do you think there is any chance this program might become stable at some point?

    I do and it isn't pretty. They waited for years also to upgrade from 4.3 and are not happy with the issues they are encountering and SWK is supposed to release another SP/Build in the next week. I have had daily communication with the support team for P2. They are finally fixing a lot of issues that should not have been encountered with an upgrade such as basic functionality.
