I know many of you know the drill here and have heard the pitch for Fixed Prices and selling subscription access so this might be well-covered ground.

If you are interested in hearing some of my thoughts about it, I recently did a podcast with a technology channel specialist.

Would love to hear your thoughts or if you have questions. I'm always happy to share my perspectives and I know others in here also have "paid their dues" with this new-ish model.

Peter - this is a great interview. You are very good at this.
I have so far been a bit stumped at figuring out what the IP would be for a non-MD in the Sage 100 world. It's a bit different than the needs in the CRM space. I am not convinced that there are enough potential reports to justify it. What do you think?

Thanks Jerry for the kind words!

For the Intellectual Property add-ons, I think I am fortunate because both Sage CRM and Dynamics 365 for Sales are both very easily customized and even configured. Plus I have two full-time developers so that helps greatly.

Our stuff isn't just reports - it's little enhancements throughout the system.

One example is Last Activity Date. This doo-dad takes the last activity and updates a field on the main Company screen with that date. This allows users to quickly query for "give me all my customers that I haven't spoken to in the last 90 days or longer." Pretty common request - very valuable - super easy to build.

Another example is Birthday Manager. This allows you to put a birthdate on an Person / Contact record and automatically send out a Happy Birthday greeting to them. This is a less valuable add-on but many of our customers love it.

Our Sage CRM add-ons are slightly bigger, more robust and our D365 add-ons are tiny little doo-dads that we bundle into packs so we have two different approaches which is useful as it shows you can go at it a few different ways.
