    Hello,

I believe we can agree the button option is sufficient - see the last paragraph:

    #16 & #14 – Default Options buttons

    1. Two options – IM Options and Session Option

    2. Pricing Option (Item Pricing/Customer Price Schedule) - should default to Item Pricing which is how the programs work now.
This would change the behavior in Item Pricing Maintenance within Item Maintenance.

Pricing Method (the 5) - Default to Price Discount Amount (which is how the programs work now)
This would change the behavior in Item Pricing Maintenance within Item Maintenance and the Pricing button in Customer Maintenance for Customer Pricing Maintenance.

I/M price code maintenance could also default pricing method if it was anything other than price override, in which case the existing default could remain.

Per #14 and the doc we sent you, we will establish a "defaults" button. However, it appears to us that you are asking us to do Setup Options to default the defaults. If this is indeed what you are asking for we are not really willing to make that addition. It is our feeling that having "defaults" on the maintenance tasks is sufficient and we just don't want to clutter up Setup Options for what we see to be little value.

Hello all - hope everyone is safe, etc.

    I disagree ....

These are two different things with two different purposes.

The setup options are important to help the situation where users go with the defaults, not thinking or looking.  This is most common with customers who widely use Price Override, where they end up having lots of bad entries from users who aren't changing it.   Having another option for Item Pricing vs. Customer pricing in options is a convenience, but may make sense do both at once.

The options button is for efficiency, but does not help the situation where the default is wrong and users don't know/remember to change it.  It doesn't help other than the situation where a user is going in to make a lot of similar entries.

The original request for the default in IM setup options was not for efficiency, but was for data integrity, but would help with efficiency also.
