And why does Sage Advisor Update now say ""You are current on all of your Sage product updates""?

Because Sage Advisor got its artificial intelligence from Sage?

We'll get a behind the scenes look at some of these new features during our next Sage Roundtable on June 28th. Remember to register, it's a 90 Minds Socialcast members only event. I think the image above cut off some of the info, the full announcement from Sage is attached.

    Hey, here's something interesting

That should help with those orphaned cost records.

    should

You know what I dont understand - they mentioned about the ability to do multiple sales orders on a single invoice. But then there isn't anything in the release notes and no instructions on where/how to set this up. Their communication is terrible.

You know what I dont understand"" ... ""Their communication is terrible."" Question asked and answered. :-(

It seems the multiple Sales Orders on a Single Invoice functionality was added to invoice data entry but not shipping data entry? Seems like they missed the mark here... Also, we received notification about this release the same day as it was released to the public so I would advise anyone eager to throw this on to tread lightly - especially if any third party products are installed at the client. I quickly tested PU3 with our Multi-Bin and have not found any major issues so far but have not done a code review yet. So as always - don't forget to check with your third party vendors before installing.

FYI - spoke with Sage R & D this morning. The multiple sales orders on a single invoice was only added to SO Invoicing for this release but the plan as of right now is that they will be adding it to shipping data entry on the next release.

I missed the all hands. Need to catch up on the recording. Is consolidated orders on one invoice part of this recent update? I didn't see it in the release notices. or is it a download from the marketplace?

@alanniergarth I couldn't find it in the release notes anywhere but it is in the What's New. Its part of the product update itself. No separate download. (also - there doesn't appear to be a way to prevent people from using it - no role / security option and nothing to enable/disable in any of the module options)

I was looking for that in the RN, too. And they usually have a list of forms and reports and files that are overwritten when you install the update. that's sort of important. I'm sure there are new PO and SO forms and reports.

    Posted 06-20-2018 07:19
@RhondaMcNamara Yeah I noticed the affected programs/files list was missing from the release notes this time. And there is no real documentation on the feature (only the help was updated (http://help-sage100.na.sage.com/2018/index.htm#Subsystems/SO/SOMainProced/Apply_Multiple_SOs_To_Invoice.htm) I really feel like they rushed this product update to meet some sort of deadline or they were getting a push to fix some of the PR/JC issues quickly. Everyone should also check out the new ""Photo Viewer"" in Item Maintenance. So many people should be excited about this new feature (not!)

apply update three on my demo system as we communicate. Have one client specifically asking about this. Held off recommending 3rd party enhancement. FYI - Update 3 requires a conversion.

Alan, I'm sure all the 3rd parties (ahem @NicoleRonchetti) got the update well in advance so they could ensure compatibility. haha!

I get the distinct impression Sage has gone Agile, and they were pushed to meet a deadline for the release. In the triangle of Cost, Quality and Time, with cost and time being set, what suffers is quality.

Sage: You keep using that word. There are so many memes on 'going agile' I had a hard time picking just one!

@NicoleRonchetti, is Sage planning on adding 'Multiple sales orders on a single invoice' to Shipping Data Entry via the next PU for v2018, or v2019?

  • 22.  RE: Surprise. Any idea why this wasn't a topic on the

    Posted 06-20-2018 13:03
@BrettZimmerman not exactly clear. I read the response as the next PU. Here was the exact wording ""It was not added to Shipping Data Entry yet, but the plan is to follow-up with that feature in the next release. It was a little too large to get it into PU3, but the plan (as far as I know) is to put it in the next release."" (this like other communication from Sage is left up to interpretation I suppose. Its almost like politicians lol)

FYI - before this product update was release, Sage Dev contacted us and added the Multiple Order to an Invoice and two PR changes to our June 28th roundtable topics. They are looking for feedback - so please register for the meeting to see the demos and participate in the discussion.
