I am bringing this to the top again. Please read the first thread in this post.
We need to have a booth this year at Sage Summit. With Sage Summit rescheduled to the Fall, it coincides with our membership term and would be a great time to run a membership special. We could expand the offer to include, similar to Acumatica Summit, a MOTM ticket.
Social Event - We had no new members from our social event at Sage Summit Atlanta 2017. We did, however, have a larger bill for the food and drink since we had a lot of 'guests' attend that were not preregistered for the event. It seems social parties are marketing to existing members, affiliates, and rarely anyone new.
If you recall, last year, before we decided to skip a formal event, we were had a scheduling battle. Many evenings Sage had an event, or larger vendors was having a 'blow-out' party. We could hardly find anytime that would work, and the minimums for food and drinks started at $10,000, and only went up. I have little interest to co-sponsor since it would likely be a crowded party filled with their potential customers, not our potential members.
A booth is exposed to everyone at Summit. Old, current, and potential members, both consultant and affiliate. A potential Affiliate is well worth the booth cost. A new Affiliate is worth a minimum of $4,150, before any additional sponsorships or ads.
A booth allows time to get to know a new member, exchange information, share ideas, and recruit! That's hard to do at a loud party, if at all. Membership notices - our members seeing our investment in the 90 Minds brand is huge! If they have customers at the event, an even bigger bang for the buck since we double the value as we increase brand awareness around 90 Minds Consultant and Affiliate Members.
Having a face to face conversations with potential members, hearing from our existing members, Affiliates seeing our commitment to our brand and theirs too. A booth is an investment for the long term.

I am a bit annoyed that I didn't think of this ...
Yes, of course! While the social benefits of our group are greatly appreciated within the group, I feel that I sometimes forget that the tech aspect is mostly what gIets them through the door at first. it is the same for an Acumatica channel and others.
This sounds like a terrific outline. Kudos to the committee for coming up with it!!
