Summit Info: OK, 90 Minds Peeps, I just received some Summit info regarding registrations and hotels. Since I won an award for a fabulous tweet last year, they have extended free Summit registration for me. woo-hoo(!) Now, as I told most of you in San Diego, Summit will be held at the Riverside Convention Center and the main hotel will be the Riverside Hilton. The other two ""official"" overflow hotels will be the Marriott and Sheraton (both on Canal St.) the walking from the 2 overflows isn't bad... unless you consider that this is NOLA in the dead of summer... wear shorts @WayneSchulz . Oh, and those ""wonderful famous"" walks that you guys enjoy, talk to me and I'll give you the best routes. The levee is usually pretty safe but heading up Magazine toward Uptown can also be rewarding... depending on the time of day. http://www.sagesummit.com/information/hotel

Looking at the map - the Embassy Suites seems to be no farther than the other overflows and only 129 a night!

There are a plethora of wonderful boutique hotels just across Convention Center Blvd in what is referred to as ""the warehouse district."" This area has a great group of bars, restaurants, and quaint hotels that have been built in the shells of former warehouses. This isn't the French Quarter. The Quarter is on the other side of the Central Business District (CBD) and Canal Street. It's all within walking distance and very tourist friendly. If you use Hotwire.com you can find some hotels in the warehouse district, CBD, and Quarter at pretty deep discounts during mid summer. The warehouse district is also where the National World War II Museum is located.

Perhaps 90 Minds management will book one of the warehouse district hotels for pre-conference stuff? Do we have ETA for decisions on what 90 Minds will be doing this year?

FYI - Walking from the Marriott and Sheraton to the convention Center will be brutal in July. I would opt for the Hilton. There is also a hotel across the street from the convention center that would be convenient, but I can't remember the name. I believe it a Hampton Inn.

There is another Marriott across from the Convention Center (The New Orleans Downtown Marriott at the Convention Center) as well as a Hilton Place and the Hampton.

The Hilton and Hampton and Embassy Suites are down near the ""bottom"" of the Convention Center. Can you stay inside until you get down to that end and then pop out and across the street?

The Marriott on Convention center Blvd would be fine.

@BethBowers It probably depends if there are other conventions going on.
