  • 1.  Summit Hosting Support Ticket

    Is it just my version of Outlook or are others get emails without the from field displayed?  Hard to click on reply if it is missing.  Every support email from Summit arrives this way.  FWIW, I support tickets from others sources this way as well.  Haven't found anything is Outlook set up.

    Hope there is an answer.  Summit Support does not have a solution.

    Double-click the email (to have it open as a pop-up), then click File - Properties.  Copy / paste the "Internet headers" into Notepad...
    AFAIK the technical "from" address can't be blank... for legit sources.
    But that is not what Outlook displays... which you can see a bit further down:
    If the user friendly portion of the "From" information is missing, that is likely a problem on the sending side, not yours.  Forward the email as an attachment to their email admin for troubleshooting.

    It could also be malicious.  Bad actors routinely use intercepted email formats to try and send look-alike fakes, in attempts to have you to click dangerous links (in familiar looking correspondence).
