New client got way behind in migrating to Sage.  The CFO jumped ship a couple of weeks ago.  The company is in a transition and is considering halting the installation (and paying their subscription) for about four months.  James H is telling them this is not possible and if they do lapse, they "will not be given the choice to re-subscribe in the future"..  Huh?

Does anyone know the real story of lapsed subscriptions?

If I had a quarter for every version of this....

Please email me when Sage tells your customer that they won't sell them another subscription at full list price.

I just had a stray who is on 3.71 USING PAYROLL call Sage to be sure their subscription was up-do-date. All good says Sage. I tell the stray not-so-fast as there is potentially a payroll subscription. They call back. Oops, yeah.

There will be a lot more of this as Sage continues accelerate their move to Intacct and the personnel at Sage have problems spelling Sage 100.

The problem is that Sage does not understand what subscription actually means.  All they see is "price increase", "lock in" and "stock market likes this".

Add and drop users as needed through a web portal??  That sounds too much like "work" and "investment"...and not enough like "extraction"...
