Statement of work for Starship upgrade. Notice that they put a time limit for any questions (30 days) and in the case of cancellation without adequate notice there is a $50 rescheduling fee which must be paid BEFORE a new date is established. They also are very clear that this is an upgrade project and ANYTHING except an upgrade is subject to an added quote.

I think they charge $275 to do the Starship upgrade. I build it into all my upgrades and have not had any customers push back. It's nice not to have to worry about some undocumented Starship issue which V-Tech usually fixes in 5 minutes. In the past I used to do the upgrades myself but found V-Tech KB was not very good and they had a bunch of ""hidden"" knowledge on how to fix hidden issues so it's actually cheaper in terms of headaches just to point the customer to V-Tech for the upgrade. I've had no push back on why the customer pays V-Tech an added upgrade fee.

Perhaps V-Tech should introduce Gold and/or Platinum plans that would cover these costs.

@WayneSchulz thanks for sharing. I'm kind of digging the $50 rescheduling fee. How many of us have had customers adjust at the last minute. It happens all the time and for some customers, it happens multiple times. I like that they monetize the affect these changes have on us. I also like the 30 day window definition. We have something similar in ours. Otherwise, ""Upgrade issues"" seem to pop up 6 months later, even though they either really don't relate to the upgrade or they would have been found sooner had the customer performed the recommended testing.

The key part of the $50 is that V-Tech states it is due BEFORE the date is re-scheduled. I suspect that is a very important part of actually receiving the payment otherwise if you reschedule and try to bill after the value is largely lost on the customer and I suspect it will be difficult or impossible to be paid.
