  • 1.  Starting to perform upgrades from versions higher

    Starting to perform upgrades from versions higher than 4.xx such as v2013 and v2014 to v2015 and v2016. Is it safe to assume (after doing a backup first) that data in the data entry functions in modules AR, AP, SO, PO and JC is no longer lost when performing an upgrade? Is the same thing true when installing Product Updates in v2013, v2014, ..etc.

    Probably depends. If the data entry file has any new fields, I'm betting Sage just deletes it and recreates it, since they do tell you to update everything first. I know I've had some make it through upgrades, too, because there were no changes to the file.

    I don't trust Sage after having run through more than one ""data must be converted"" after installing a PU. I always tell the customer to post everything and make a backup.
