Starship setup to bill recipient. One of my custo

Starship setup to bill recipient. One of my customers recently implemented Starship and they want to set up the system so that customers who have their own account and want to provide their own shipping account can be accommodated. I haven't had to do this before and Starship is saying create a UDF in the customer master to hold the customer's shipping account. Is there any easier way to do this and have Starship automatically use that shipping account number?

That is how we manage it. We even have some who have more than one account number (Fed Ex and UPS). Then it can populate the Sales Order with the right info. Then it passes the right SO data into StarShip. Leaning on Sage and the Sales Order to drive the information. We usually feed it right into the Sales Order, while you can also pull it from the AR Customer. Just depends on how dynamic it needs to be.

Is it possible to pass the UDF from Customer Master to Sales Order Header? Doesn't seem so but maybe I'm making the wrong connection.

NM - found it. Had to map the Customer Number then the column for UDF appeared.

I believe you can also establish a rule in Starship that uses the customers common carrier account number during shipping.

One issue I have run into is customers may have several ship to locations, each with their own ups or fedex account number. You cant map a udf from the shipto location table because most customers don't have a record in the table.

I believe you can do it all within Starship. Makes sense if you only have a few customers doing that. You can add the customers Billing account and Sage customer number to a table in Starship. It will then change the Bill Method and populate the bill account when the customer number from Sage equals customer number in the Starship table

Interesting. The customer was the one that initiated this UDF and I questioned whether Starship could track the account without need for UDF.

Yea, I'm pretty sure that's how we setup this one customer. It's been a while but I can logon and get details if you need more info.

I believe you may need 2 udfs: one that has the account number and another that has the bill method (recipient, prepaid, etc).

@DougHiggs I think you are right as the customer asked that I create two UDF fields
