Starship compatibility with Sage 100 Premium

  • 1.  Starship compatibility with Sage 100 Premium

    Are there any issues with Starship and Sage 100 Premium?

    Is Starship platform agnostic?

    Does Starship Connector still work or does it require the BOI interface?

    Anyone have any insights to share if you have gone through a conversion when Starship was involved?

    I did a v2021 ADV update (from v2019) last March with Scanco MB and Starship.  Starship immediately manifested an issue (not treating BO's properly).  Starship said it wasn't their problem, Scanco said MB was functioning properly, Sage said it had nothing to do with their base product so they declined to get involved.  Scanco got involved a little bit, Starship won't engage at all.  Customer is forced to pay for product support WITHOUT getting any support.  They are quite pissed to say the least.  Good Luck!

    @Jeff Schwenk Scanco + Starship is a mess​. Had another client abandon Starship because they could not get Lot Distributions to work when both were enabled.

    @Jeff Schwenk I feel as if your experience with Starship + Scanco is basically every customer I have who also has multiple integrations. Hopefully everything works well. However, when something goes wrong it's almost always up to the VAR to prove whose problem it is. In many cases we are left holding the bag once the "shiny shiny" of the new integration wears off.​

    The "connector" aka StarShip Link does work BUT it is not yet compatible with Sage 100 version 2022.  I have an upgrade on hold waiting for StarShip.  The StarShip v2022 compatible version is supposed to be released in September.

    Quite the sad situation.  Since Starship is not an "authorized" Sage partner, Sage feels no compunction to get involved nor does Starship feel any need to engage with developers and partners to resolve issues when they arise.

    I'll point a finger at Sage to delay adding compatibility for MS Email until practically the last minute.  Enhancement developers need time to do their updates (and some are obviously better than others).

    Things like this make me really appreciate the Master Developers who do well playing with others (ensuring compatibility with other enhancements).  The Sage 100 eco-system doesn't work any other way.
