Customer has been using Starship for many years. They are moving everything Sage100 to the cloud and considering Starship Cloud. Has anyone made the move to Starship Cloud? Any Do's, Don'ts, suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.

If you can, wait for them to release their upcoming migration tool from On-Prem to Cloud, supposed to drop 2024 Q1 or Q2. Right now, you have to redo all the setup manually in the Cloud to match the On-Prem, which its just a huge PITA. We have put clients straight on Cloud, but haven't migrated any existing yet due to this pain point. Also, Cloud is all subscription & more money, so our current customers are not going to make the leap until they have to, like their version is no longer supported, or the price is the same, which SS has been structuring to minimize that gap each year by increasing the On Prem & force all to subscription.

Seems as if I've been hearing about Starship Cloud since before Covid. This is great feedback and I wish there were a way for 90 Minds to share it more regularly. I know that ISVS host webinars but that's rarely going to share this insider-type info.

Thank you @Dana Young. Great info. I had no idea about the lack of migration. I'm sure the customer will want to wait. Thanks again.

SS has a hybrid option if you want to get customers used to the cloud interface while maintaining the SS on-prem server. They have stopped development of the old SS client and are now recommending all users move to the new browser-based client. There's no additional cost. The two clients can live on the same workstation if you want to have both options available. Once the migration tool is available, then you can move to the subscription full cloud model.
