  • 1.  sql not enabled OnLY from workstation

    Premium 2022.2 test system, was working for months, suddenly getting "sql not enabled" error on the workstation. Sage 100 runs fine from the server.  Service is being run as a domain admin.

    Another app from the workstation can connect to SQL just fine.

    Any ideas?

    Does it connect OK in mas90 mode?  At what point does the error occur, before or after you enter the user credentials?

    I had one of these, and the resolution was IT re-enabling either TLS 1.0 or 1.1 ( or both ) on the server.

    Firewall rules changed / missing?  I think I read recently that the Spawn Tasks from Server checkbox being disabled might change the port for new tasks to a higher range than the service port.  (So if the other app on the workstation uses different Sage credentials, that might be it).

    DNS name resolution (unless the SQL config uses the IP address).

    Bad program shortcut / sota.ini?

    SQL not enabled comes up before login

    It works in MAS90 mode.

    Spawn tasks is checked.

    DNS seems OK

    uninstalled/reinstalled workstation setup, no change in behavior
