Have a client self installing Sage 100 in AWS.  They are on an old version and are installing and testing a new environment.

From the Sage 100 box, everything is fine.  From an RDP server in the same environment when they try to run the desktop application (which is on an AWS hosted RDP Server) they get
    error

They have tried everything in the attached document and it still doesn't work.

    Any thoughts?

Never use "[local]" in the SQL settings... ServerName\InstanceName is my usual first choice but IPaddress\InstanceName is fine.
If you can Test Connection successfully, but not log in from a workstation, it's probably a firewall issue.  Set up a DSN and use that for testing the connection to SQL so you can eliminate Sage settings as the problem.
For a recent upgrade I had to go into SQL config and force the port # to 1433, bypassing problems with dynamic ports.

@Mark Chinsky  Did you ever resolve this issue with the SQL is NOT ENABLED"  I am having the same exact issue.  Works on server not on the client.

I resolved it.  it was caused by running the service as a local account and the server was not joined to the domain. Once I ran the service with domain account everything worked.
