Spotted this LinkedIn job posting for an SAP person for Sage. Back out the estimated # of Sage employees in North America and you have the estimated channel size I would guess. Our Lawrenceville, GA campus is searching for a Principal SAP ABAP CRM Developer to join our team. We are looking for a strong Developer to provide leadership, mentoring and technical programming support. This position is part of a team responsible for providing leadership and direction in the development of an integrated solution for our global SAP Landscape with ****** 3000+ users across the North America-wide Sage entities ******, utilizing SAP R/3, CRM, SRM, HCM, PI, BI, and Enterprise Portal.

@WayneSchulz - I'm confused, you said, ""...back out the # of Sage employees and you have the estimated channel size..."". The fields I guess would have numbers in them have asterisks, or I missed something.

The job listing says there are 3,000+ users on the SAP system. This must include both Sage NA employees and channel partners. If you know the # of Sage NA employees then back those out - wouldn't you be close to a count on the # of active NA partners?

Hmm - one online post indicates 13,400 NA employees. That must be for all of Sage? http://panorama-consulting.com/erp-vendors/sage-north-america/

Oh, now I'm following you..but if you back out the # employees from the 3,000+ wouldn't the result be the number of partners & customers, since the portal has all three types of users, Sage employees, partners & customers? But that doesn't make sense either, unless the customer count is low. If there are 13,400 NA employees, then maybe the 3,000+ is only partners & customers?

13K NA employees seems way too high - I think there are only somewhere around 500 in Irvine.

That did seem high @RobertaFerguson. Per Sage's Linked In Page: ""Sage is a global company with more than 6 million customers, 13,600 employees and 30 years of experience working with small and medium sized businesses."" That 13,400-13,600 employee count is global.

If 13,500 is WW, and ~40% of revenue is NA, doesn't that mean NA headcount would be somewhere around 5k?

Maybe Jerry - Odd thing, I Googled how many employees in Sage NA and this link came up http://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Sage-North-America-Reviews-E1150.htm. The comments from Sage employees are pretty imflamatory and may just be unhappy former employees or unhappy current employees. It was an interesting browse, but still don't know how many Sage employees are in NA for certain.
