Spotted this in the Sage Channel News: Channel business update Sage recently announced the termination of the Business Partner agreement with Tri Tech Information Systems, effective May 20, 2014. After that date, Tri Tech Information Systems will no longer be authorized to sell Sage BusinessVision Accounting, and Tri Tech's customers will be aligned to authorized Sage business partners. We would like to invite Sage partners who have been selling Sage BusinessVision Essentials to take another look at the Sage portfolio of accounting and ERP solutionsespecially, the upcoming Sage 300 Online release that is due out later this year. This solution presents a simplified experience based on Sage 300 ERP that will be a good fit for many Sage BusinessVision customers using BusinessVision Essentials. As always, we encourage you to become certified on other Sage solutions that enhance your product portfolio, allowing you to provide customers with the best possible experience. http://cdn.na.sage.com/sagemail/SageMail/Sage_Channel_News_0414_Press.html

Wonde3r what their sin was? And what is the message Sage is communicating by publicly declaring the punishment?

I'm really curious about the public declaration. That's kind of unusual.

Based on the wording I would speculate that Tri Tech was setting themselves up to be a support center and encouraging people not to switch off BusinessVision and instead use Tri Tech for fixes. Pure guess on my part but the fact that Sage also plugs a simultaneous move to another Sage product gives me some clue.
