spent a couple of hours on this one so far. Bill of material pick sheet. The component quantites are being understated. The pick sheet is not extending the component quantities for the quantity of the phantom parent needed. If two phantom parent parts are needed for any given item, the components should be doubled. It is only calculating the component requirements of a single phantom quantity. The report works fine in the XYZ company on my system but not on the customers live data on their system.

What is the UoM for the parent and components?

you thinking unit of measure conversion issue? this was an upgrade from 4.2 to 4.5. It worked in the 4.2 version.

Just curious, but if you do a Gross Requirements Report report for the quantity needed - does it show the correct quantity of phantum parts on that?

On the phantom bills - are the components regular type 1 items or are the misc items/charges? Also, what product updates have been installed?

good questions. didn't think to run the requirements report. they are on 4.5 PU4. no enhancements. all regular inventory items. hoping to get back on their system today to sleuth this out.

The other option you might look at is the Bill Validation report - see if that shows anythign unusual with this Bill.

update to this issue. It is now a known bug slated to be fixed in the 2013 release...Of course there was nothing in the KB to indicate this while I was fruitlessly trying to figure it out. A customized BM pick sheet for Bills using phantom sub assemblies is the only solution. Sage's response... This issue you reported in case 8002189643 is a known program issue and is schedule for correction in product update 5 for version 4.50.
